Several weeks ago, reports starting coming out of Korea that Samsung was going to launch an Android clamshell. Think Motorola RAZR circa 2007, but with software people actually want to use. A few days ago, the manual for the “Galaxy Folder” appeared on Samsung’s very own tech support website. Today, thanks to All About Samsung, we now have photos of the device.
As expected, it’s a clamshell with two screens, one on the inside, one on the outside. Both mearsue around 3.7 inches, use AMOLED technology, and can push out a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Will this thing ever leave South Korea? Maybe it’ll hit China, but I wouldn’t bet on the Folder being sold in Europe and/or the United States. It’s just too niche.
