Back in November, a beta version of Nova launcher was released by its developer – TeslaCoil – that introduced quite a lot of features as seen on the Google Experience launcher. However, that version was in beta and still needed some polish and KitKat love. Well, today the developers have pushed the v2.3 update of Nova Launcher on the Play Store which brings the full Google Experience Launcher look. Everything from the icon size to the new look of the folders to the translucent status and navigation bar are present here. The only thing missing from Nova’s feature list is Google Now integration, which is understandable since that part of the Google Experience Launcher is closed source by Google. Below is the full change-log of the update -:
KitKat scroll indicator (Desktop – Scroll Indicator)
KitKat folders styles (Folders – Folder Background, Light Background)
KitKat font (Look and Feel – Icon Font – Condensed, Android 4.1+)
KitKat app drawer icon
Google KitKat icon theme (Look and Feel – Icon Theme)
Small autohiding tabs in app drawer (Drawer – Small Tabs)
Transparent system bars on KitKat (Look and feel – Transparent Notification Bar. Requires KitKat)
Backup/Restore from external sdcard
What set Nova apart from other launchers on the Play Store is the level of customisation it offers. This includes Gesture support, icon packs, scroll speed, app opening animation, icon font packs and much more. There might be a few issues here and there with this update, but expect the developers to solve it soon with a quick bug-fixing update within the next couple of weeks. If you haven’t already, head over to the Play store to download Nova launcher now.
