Nokia 5.3: Design and Display
In terms of design, the Nokia 5.3 features a polycarbonate back on the rear with a circular camera module and a fingerprint scanner right below it. The back is scratch-resistant and comes in three colors: Charcoal, Cyan, and Sand. Towards the front, the device has a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a 2.5D glass on top. The display features a notch up top to house the front-facing camera and comes in at a 20:9 aspect ratio.
Nokia 5.3: Performance
Under the hood, the Nokia 5.3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. The SD665 is an octa-core processor built on the 11nm process with up to 2.0GHz clock speed, and the Adreno 610 GPU for graphics processing. To assist the processor, there is 4GB / 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of onboard storage (expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card). The device includes a 4000mAh battery and runs on Android 10 out of the box. For connectivity, there is support for dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC. The phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and support for aptX codec. Moreover, there is also a dedicated Google Assistant button on the device to quickly summon the assistant.
Nokia 5.3: Camera
In the camera department, the Nokia 5.3 sports a quad-camera setup on the rear with an LED flash. This quad-camera array includes a 13MP (f/1.8) primary sensor accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the device has an 8MP (f/2.0) sensor.
Nokia C3
Alongside the Nokia 5.3, HMD Global also announced a few more devices in the country, which include the likes of Nokia C3 (launched in China earlier), Nokia 125, and Nokia 150. Of these, while the Nokia 125 and Nokia 150 are feature phones, the C3 is an entry-level smartphone.
To give you a quick rundown, the Nokia C3 comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ display and runs on an octa-core processor. There is 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of onboard expandable storage. The device includes a 3040mAh battery, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm audio jack. For optics, there is a single 8MP camera on the rear with an LED flash and a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies. Nokia C3 comes in two colors: Blue and Sand.
Nokia 150 and Nokia 125
Both Nokia 150 and Nokia 125 are the company’s latest feature phone offerings, with the Nokia 125 taking a more basic approach, while the Nokia 150 offering a few extra additions building on the same. To begin with, you get a 2.4-inch display on the Nokia 125 with bigger buttons and ergonomic design, not to mention, the usual set of basic feature phone functionalities. On the other hand, the Nokia 150 builds on the same with a 2.4-inch display and provides a few extra features like expandable storage of up to 32GB, a VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and longer battery life.
Nokia 150 comes in three colors: Red, Cyan, and Black, whereas the Nokia 125 offers only two color options: Charcoal Black and Powder White.
Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 5.3 comes in two configurations: 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 64GB, priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,499, respectively. On the other hand, the Nokia C3 also offers two variants: 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB, which are priced at Rs 7,499 and Rs 8,999, respectively. Coming to the feature phones, the Nokia 150 comes at Rs 2,299 while the Nokia 125 carries a price tag of Rs 1,999. In terms of availability, the Nokia 5.3 will be available starting September 1, with pre-bookings from August 25. Similarly, the Nokia C3 will go on sale from September 17, and the two feature phones available earlier, starting August 25.
