Google announcement post of the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 was really lacking in detail about their features, specs and availability. The company forgot to highlight many of the key new features of its new Nexus devices including their battery life and the presence of Boomsound speakers on its latest tablet. One such important feature that Google forgot to mention in its announcement post is that both its new Nexus devices feature always-on voice recognition just like the Moto X.
While the feature is not listed on the official Google Play listing of the devices, Google mentions about the presence of the feature on its Android 5.0 Lollipop page. With Android 5.0 Lollipop adding support for low-level hotword detection, we should expect this feature to become mainstream in future Android devices.
