LG is going to announce a phone called the G2 in New York City on August 7th. It’s been leaked so many times that I’ve lost count. Quick recap: 5.2 inch 1080p screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2 GB of RAM, and a 13 megapixel camera. What makes this phone “special” is that the volume buttons are on the back of the device. Weird, I know. Anyway, the guys at PhoneArena have scored two more images of the device. Unlike the last leak, which had a photo of the 2,540 mAh battery, this leak shows the battery holding 2,610 mAh. That’s an extra 70 mAh, which may not sound like much, but every little bit helps.
Should you wait for the G2? I’m going to have to say no. There’s going to be a Snapdragon 800 version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 on store shelves by the end of the year, the Note III, the Moto X, and maybe even a Nexus version of the G2. Why would you want to put up with LG’s Android skin and complete disregard of software updates is beyond me.
