The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has leaked out on quite a few occasions in the past, but what we have here could be our first look at the device. As you can see from the image above, the front of the smartphone barely has any noticeable changes from the Galaxy S5. The back also carries the same design for the most part, but the opening for the camera sensor appears to be slightly bigger here. The heart rate monitor is well in place too, so nothing seems to be changed in that regard. Phone Arena cites a tipster and claims that the body is made of aluminum, although there’s barely any proof of that at this point. The good news is that the device appears to have protective flaps near the micro USB port, which indicates water and dust resistance will be available by default.
It is claimed that the phone is currently undergoing testing, which explains the timing of this leak. There’s not much to go with, apart from these pictures at the moment, but rumors have suggested that the S5 Prime will feature a 5.2 inch 2K display accompanied by 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 805 chipset and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. With the LG G3 expected to break cover in a week’s time, we expect the Galaxy S5 Prime to be launched shortly after. However, it is believed that Samsung’s offering might remain limited to a few regions due to manufacturing related issues.
