Unlike traditional password managers, Firefox Lockbox is nowhere close to the functionalities that they provide. To start with, the app lacks even the most basic options, like the ability to add, edit, delete, or suggest a password. Instead, the app syncs all the existing passwords for different websites that a user has ever saved on their Firefox browser and provides access to them whenever required. Additionally, it also offers the ability to autofill passwords when it comes across any form. To enhance the security of the stored passwords, the app provides users with the ability to lock them with the help of a PIN or fingerprint. In addition to that, it also has the option to set an automatic timer for a certain duration, after which the app would lock itself. Some of the other additional functionalities available on the app include one tap to copy username and password, setting the browser to open a website, and a few more.
Firefox Lockbox has been available on iOS for a while, and starting today, users can download the app on their Android devices from the Play Store. Personally, we feel you should definitely use a password manager to keep track of all your login credentials for different accounts and also to create strong and complex passwords that are comparatively harder to crack.
