Motorola has sent out invites to the media for an event on August 1st in New York city with the teaser “Come experience the new Motorola.” The invite reveals Motorola will be unveiling its much anticipated Android smartphone, the Moto X at the event. According to rumors, Moto X won’t be a high end smartphone, it will feature a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon MSM8960 Pro SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 720p display of unknown dimensions, a 10MP camera in the back with a 2MP snapper in the front. It is supposed to be highly customizable, allowing users to select the color of the back panel of the device etc. The invite also gives a glimpse of what the device will look like, which closely resembles the leaked photos that have been doing the rounds. Motorola had announced earlier this year that Moto X will be assembled in the U.S., which will allow the company to ship the customizable Moto X a lot more quickly to customers. Moto X will be available on all major carriers in the U.S, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, and could be available for as cheap as $199 off-contract. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we get any more details. Source: The Verge
