Motorola lifted the veil on the Droid Turbo Tuesday, showing off a phone that lines up pretty well with what’s already been leaked. The Verizon-exclusive packs a 3900mAh battery, which Motorola claims can last up to two days. The Droid Turbo also ships with Motorola’s Turbo Charger, which gives the battery 8 hours of life after 15 minutes of charging. The Droid Turbo has the same 5.2-inch display of the Moto X, but it boasts an increased 2560×1440 “Quad HD” resolution screen, Snapdragon’s top 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, support for Verizon’s XE network, a 21Mcamera. The other specs on the Droid Turbo can’t compete with those high-end highights. You may be disappointed at the capacitive buttons, for instance, as Motorola opted not to follow Android’s on-screen navigation scheme. Some will find the Kevlar-backed versions sleek hsomely rugged, while others may think they’re too ugly or muscular. The Droid Turbo will be available from Verizon on October 30 for $199.99 on contract for a 32GB model or $249.99 for the 64GB version. The three options include a black Ballistic Nylon that has an even tougher aluminum exterior, or the Kevlar-backed Metallic Black or Red. y this matters: one makers need marquis products to help sell their entire line. In Motorola’s case, the newest Droid Turbo is the company’s tough, sinewy marathoner of a phone (in contrast to its more refined Moto X Nexus 6 cousins), designed to appeal to the same hard-living users who might also be looking at the AT&T exclusive Galaxy S5 Active. ll it prove tough enough in real life? ‘ll let you know once we get our hs on one.
