The Moto G4 Play will be the smaller brother of the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. While the latter two handsets feature a 5.5-inch Full HD handset, the Moto G4 Play will feature a 5-inch 720p display. Other specs of the handset will reportedly include a Snapdragon 410 chipset, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, a microSD card slot, and a 2800mAh battery.

— Motorola India (@motorolaindia) August 29, 2016 The handset will likely be priced below Rs 10,000, and will compete directly with Xiaomi’s cheapest Redmi handset — the Redmi 3S Prime. Looking at its specs, it is unlikely that the Moto G4 Play will feature any kind of water-resistance certification like the Moto X Play from last year did. The Moto G4 Play was silently unveiled by Motorola when alongside the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus back in May. The handset went on sale in Canada earlier today, and it is likely that it will make its debut in other markets of the world from September as well.
