Android 5.1 is still relatively new, so it’s good to see so many devices getting updated to the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. Adding to that list is Motorola’s second-generation Moto E, which was initially debuted in February of this year. The handset, a successor to the popular Moto E from the year before and now equipped with 4G LTE-connectivity, is now reportedly receiving the Android 5.1 update from Motorola as an over the air (OTA) update. As noted by Motorola in their own release notes reported on just recently, the Android 5.1 update for the current Moto E isn’t a big update features wise. The build number is 23.11.15, according to Moto E (2nd Gen.) owners that have received the update already. As noted by Droid-Life, this does not appear to be an update only for soak testers, but a standard rollout of the new software for devices out in the wild. If you own a 2nd-gen Moto E, have you received the update yet?
