Surface Laptop, unlike other Surface products, is a rather straightforward notebook. There’s no button through which you can detach the screen and use it as a tablet or a rotating hinge so that you can flip it around in several positions. It’s your average laptop made by Microsoft with a few, of course, Microsoft things.
For starters, while the Surface Laptop’s exterior is made out of aluminum, its keyboard has a microfibre material called Alcantara. It comes preloaded with Windows 10 S which only allows you to install apps from the Microsoft Store but if you want, the normal Windows 10 OS is just a button click away. In addition, there’s also Windows Hello support so that you can sign in with just your face. It’s compatible with the Surface Pen too so that you can scribble on the screen. The Surface Laptop also doesn’t have a whole lot of ports. It comes with a standard USB, DisplayPort, a headphone jack, and the Surface Connect for charging. There’s also another USB port on its charging brick. As for the specifications, the Surface Laptop features a 13.5-inch PixelSense touchscreen on the front which has a resolution of 2256 x 1504 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio. You can get it either with a 7th-Gen Intel i5 or i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD. On a single charge, Microsoft says the Surface Laptop can last nearly 13 hours.
