Microsoft’s OneNote for Android has been available for quite some time now, and for users that have made it their go-to note taking app, it’s just received a pretty sizable update that should make users plenty happy. Announced officially on the OneNote blog, OneNote for Android is now getting a major update that will address plenty of oft-requested features, including OneNote Ribbons, stability improvements, some bug squashing and more. Of course, those are just the smaller details. It’s the big carrots that most people will look forward to. And that includes handwriting support in the new app, as noted as being one of the most requested features for the app since its launch: You’ll be able to annotate on top of text, all with the goal of making it feel as fluid as writing on a piece of paper. You’ll also be able to highlight important parts as you’re studying if you are into that sort of thing.
The new app also comes with native, full tablet support, which means a redesigned layout that will better suit your devices with larger displays: The update is now rolling out to the OneNote for Android users, and it should be available in the Google Play Store now.
