Samsung’s Theme store on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, while a great idea, has been completely ruined by how it has been executed. The store is filled with themes that have been designed by 5-year olds and feature a color theme that will end up giving you seizures. Recently though, Samsung accepted many themers from XDA forums for the Theme store, which led to a couple of great themes making their way to the store last week. It was expected that Samsung would also approve two Material Design themes submitted by a developer last week, but due to licensing issues, that did not happen. Today though, a Material Design inspired theme — called ‘Material’ from developer Samer Zayer — has finally made its way to the Theme store for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. As evident from the screenshots above, the theme is really well done and is reminiscent of Google’s Material Design. Samsung also released quite a few other themes on the store today, but none of them are as good as the ‘Material’ theme. For some reason though, the new ‘Material’ theme is not displayed under the This week’s new themes category on the Theme store. Instead, it can be found under the Themes for Man (too manly, eh Samsung?) category. What do you think about the ‘Material’ theme? Will you be using it on your Galaxy S6?
