OnePlus today released the first community build of OxygenOS 3.1.0 based on Marshmallow for the OnePlus X. Since this is a community build, it will not be rolled out to OnePlus X owners out there.  Instead, interested OnePlus X users will have to manually flash the ROM on their handset. Since the ROM is based on Marshmallow, it brings with it numerous goodies and features. This includes Now on Tap, new system apps like OnePlus Music Player and Gallery, performance and battery life improvements, and more.

If these issues are not a deal breaker for you, go ahead and install the OxygenOS 3.1.0 update on your OnePlus X right away.

You can dirty flash the build over your current installation of OxygenOS, but if you are using a custom recovery or any other ROM, you will have to format the phone first. And if your phone has some important data, it is recommended that you create a backup just to be on the safe side. You can download the community build of OxygenOS 3.1.0 for the OnePlus X from here.
