Well, we have previously seen Facebook had tried to adopt many things from Snapchat. Facebook after making an exact copy of Snapchat’s popular AR filters, now it wants to go one step further and use its army of developers to make this war crueler. During at F8 developer conference, Mark Zuckerberg talked about two step to bring something new in the market. The first step was to release products that people already knew about. Well, this might sound like copying. The second one is to build the first mainstream augmented reality platform. Mark Zuckerberg Said “We’re not just going to build basic cameras, we’re going to build the first mainstream augmented reality platform” According to Mark Zuckerberg, the company is also working on Facebook Camera, which he called it as the first augmented reality platform. Well, Facebook had already added special effects inspired by Snapchat to its core apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Facebook even brought Snapchat stories to these apps. When Mark Zuckerberg was asked if Facebook had stopped innovating he said “I Guess I am not that worried about that. I mean, I feel like we do different kinds of work in different areas” Facebook invited developers all around the world to use its tools to create filters, geofilters, masks, etc. Not only this, Mark Zuckerberg also hinted plans regarding spectacle-like hardware in coming future. “I used to think that glasses were going to be the first mainstream augmented reality,” Mark Zuckerberg even discussed Evan Spiegel’s ‘Indians are too poor to use Snapchat” comment, he said: “I think one thing that people probably don’t think about as much as we do is innovation to serve everyone in the community, not just the high end, right?”
