Both Lyf Wind 3 and Lyf Flame 8 are budget smartphones, with Wind 3 being the slightly premier version of the two. Wind 3 comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720p) IPS LCD display with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage (with expandable storage up to 32GB). The highlight of the phone has to be the 2,920mAh battery. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 processor. The camera is 8MP on the rear and 2MP on the front, and the OS is still the age old Android 5.1 Lollipop. As you’d expect, it’s a dual SIM phone, with 4G LTE + VoLTE support, with free Reliance Jio preview offer as well.

The Lyf Flame 8 is a much more affordable option. The phone has a boxy ‘Lumia-like’ looks. It comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU. The storage though is restricted to 8GB with microSD support up to 128GB. There’s a 8MP rear camera, just like on Wind 3, but the front camera is bumped up to 5MP on Flame 8. The battery is 2000mAh, possibly enough to power a device like this. As you’d expect it support Reliance Jio 4G LTE and VoLTE as well.

Lyf Wind 3 will retail for Rs 6,999 and Lyf Flame 8 will cost you Rs 4,199. Neither of the phones are the best (or close to the best) in their categories. There are much better options like Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime or Coolpad Note 3 Lite or Honor Holly. But then, Lyf phones are expected to be optimized for Reliance Jio network and also come with the preview offer with 3 months of unlimited data and calls. We hear that Flipkart is betting really big on Lyf Wind 3 and Flame 8 and they will be importing as many as 980,000 units of these two phones via Hong Kong. So expect some marketing push and/or deals on these two phones in the coming days.
