Just a few days after it announced that the LG V20 will be the first device to launch with Android 7.0 Nougat, LG has sent out press invites for the launch event of the handset in San Francisco. The event will take place on 6th September, with a separate event being held in Seoul, Korea on September 7th.
The press invite carries the tagline “The second story begins, LG V20” and “Play More”, which don’t really reveal anything about the handset. After the LG G5 turning out to be a dud, a lot rides on the V20 for LG. Its predecessor, the V10, turned out to be a surprise hit for LG last year thanks to its unique feature set which included a secondary screen and dual front facing cameras. The LG V20 will likely feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 chipset. It could also turn out to be among the first smartphones in the market to support Google’s Daydream VR platform. This is pure speculation though, but with just over a month left for the handset to be unveiled expect more details about it to make its way to the internet.
